The Randolph County Heritage Museum was founded in 2006 as part of Pocahontas’ Sesquicentennial celebration. Pocahontas is older but the town was not incorporated until 1856. The building is a contributing structure to the Pocahontas commercial historic district. The building was donated to Five Rivers Historic Preservation by Joe Martin. Martin was a descendant of some of the county’s earliest settlers.
